Thanks for committing this to git. :)

Could I convince you to do an upload, so this change is included in
Debian buster (I am happy to do an NMU with this change if that is
easier for your time-wise).

My interest is getting #649882 resolved, which will in turn optimize
e.g. apt-file when you have multiple architectures enabled (plus apt
would be able to download Contents-all vs. Contents-$ARCH in parallel
even for single architecture downloads).  To my knowledge, this bug is
the last blocker for that.
