The patch fixes the problem for me. I just did a test build on the Debian porterbox „kyoto“ and the testsuite passes without any problems now. So, it would be great if you could upload a new version with the patch included as soon as possible as the broken texlive-bin package blocks a lot of other packages on sparc64. For upstream, I just suggest replacing „defined __sun && defined __SVR4“ with „defined __sparc“ as suggested earlier in this thread. Adrian
