Thanks for taking interest in the vnStat Debian package.
As I mentioned in the MIA thread, I was indisposed due to personal matters.
I appreciate your done work of packaging vnStat 2.4 and your ambition
to become a maintainer.
vnStat is a great tool I'm still using and I like to continue caring
about the Debian package.
Perhaps we could package vnStat together in a team, so we can support
each other in matters of time and knowledge.
Technically I can ask for a shared repository
salsa.debian.org/debian/vnstat with access for us and we need to
update the Maintainer/Uploaders control field.

While trying your package from
https://salsa.debian.org/savoury1-guest/vnstat I noticed two issues:
* Due to the move of the vnstatd man page, the build fails, because
the path is not updated in debian/vnstat.install
* Lintian recommends adding "Pre-Depends: ${misc:Pre-Depends}" to
debian/control (see
https://lintian.debian.org/tags/skip-systemd-native-flag-missing-pre-depends.html)
