Do you know which version of TLS your imap server is using?
be aware that version < 1.2 are not supported and you will have to enable them
on .muttrc explicitely if you need them (see man muttrc, look for 
'ssl_use_tlsv1'
and 'ssl_use_tlsv1_1'
