I am working on the package, but I need some clarifications before I can

http://www.iana.org/assignments/ethernet-numbers is mentioned in the 
comment, but do not understand how it would be relevant to the 
ethertypes.

Did you follow some policy in updating the file? I see that e.g. TRILL
is missing, but it contains entries for DEC protocols which probably 
have not been used in 20 years.
Unless there are specific requirements that I am not aware of then 
I would rather remove the historical entries from the file like I am 
currently doing for /etc/services.
