function.
When clicked they are outlined and look similar to buttons.
(I have just discovered that selecting any window on my desktop, or simply

Log into the machine via SSH as the same user. When the menus freeze, run this from inside the SSH session: export DISPLAY=<vnc-display-number> (can be obtained via 'echo $DISPLAY' inside the VNC I assume that we need to move this bug over to the src:marco package (marco is MATE's window manager).
