Hello Marek,
please use always "Reply all" so your answer is also going into the bug
report!

thunderbird -g asks for thunderbird-dbgsym to be installed, which is not
built for aarch64 on Debian it seems unfortunately.
No, the -dbgsym packages are available through a dedicated archive, you
need to add this repository to your sources and you can install the
debug package.
deb http://deb.debian.org/debian-debug/ testing-debug main
https://www.hiroom2.com/2017/07/10/debian-9-dbgsym-en/
Note that this example is using out of date stretch-debug archive!
The platform I am using thunderbird on is Allwinner A64 Quad Core from
PIne64.
Well, the output of the reportbug command helps to see all the most
relevant packages etc.
Without further information it's impossible to dig into the problem.
Sorry if this is not very helpful, maybe simply an update onto the next
version eventually will fix it...
Issues like this one are tagged usually serious as the user experience
is simply that the package isn't usable. It's quite possible that this
problem isn't existing anymore for the current Thunderbird version
1:78.2.1-1 in experimental. But this version isn't intended to be used
in a productive environment so you would need to install this version by
yourself. Nate that the user profile isn't usable later on a smaller
version! So please make a backup of your user data before you try out
the new version.
