I tried again. It still sometimes works.

$ host fpdownload.macromedia.com
fpdownload.macromedia.com is an alias for
fpdownload-marc.wip3.adobe.com.
fpdownload-marc.wip3.adobe.com is an alias for
fpdownload.macromedia.com.edgekey.net.
fpdownload.macromedia.com.edgekey.net is an alias for
e526.d.akamaiedge.net.
e526.d.akamaiedge.net has address 84.53.150.70

This link seems to work better:

http://fpdownload.macromedia.com.edgekey.net/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_7_linux.tar.gz

So, a workaround is to download the plugin with this link or with one of
the other aliases, and then install flashplugin-nonfree from "local
file".

Maybe the solution is to modify update-flashplugin to try all aliases
repeatedly in a loop with some sleep time in between and ask the user to
confirm to try again. On the other hand, this should not be necessary.
I hope that Adobe/Macromedia fixes this problem at the download site.
Any comments/suggestions/ideas ?
