Thanks. From my tests it appeared you were using blinkenlights so I
have already opened an upstream issue for this.

The "embedded null character" that you mentioned in #981960 will also
be a consequence of 'blinkenlights', so if you are still unable to
sync the account, maybe you can add the debug logs to #981960 after
commenting "ui = Blinkenlights".
