In https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1071575#22 I noticed that "it's unclear to me what is considered upstream now. The ``debian/watch`` file points to one repo, but the ``upstream`` branch (indeed) indicated that came from another repo." Reasonably sure that's where the problem is coming from.
