The metapackage lxde should change the default dependency from connman-gtk to 
network-manager-applet and also remove wicd since it is no longer available. 
Both on fresh install and on live CD, the wifi networking does not work out of 
the box.

Based on the recent bug 988696, the package should be network-manager-applet 
instead of network-manager-gnome.
