Well, we can do both, but personally having something in the archive
would be more easy. So if a regular upload with the things in git is
possible, then this would be appreciated.

Ok, we can do this.
Since I'm "only" a DM, I would make the call, prepare the package and
then I could either ask you for the upload or my regular sponsor, how
ever you prefer.
For the timeline:
I guess 4 weeks should be sufficient for the translators.
