Currently the provides breaks builds in experimental that depends on
fakeroot via Rules-Requires-Root: binary-targets as the cudf apt solver
is used there. For example:

https://buildd.debian.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=exim4&arch=amd64&ver=4.99%7ERC1-1&stamp=1756919050&raw=0

It’s not clear to me what’s broken, can you please elaborate a bit?

Sorry, wrong link. The problem is on armel, i386, riscv64, s390x:

https://buildd.debian.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=exim4&arch=armel&ver=4.99%7ERC1-1&stamp=1756918870&raw=0
https://buildd.debian.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=exim4&arch=i386&ver=4.99%7ERC1-1&stamp=1756918771&raw=0
https://buildd.debian.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=exim4&arch=riscv64&ver=4.99%7ERC1-1&stamp=1758342841&raw=0
https://buildd.debian.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=exim4&arch=s390x&ver=4.99%7ERC1-1&stamp=1756943420&raw=0

Would be great if you could fix it or not provide fakeroot on those architectures.

For some background: sbuild now installs fakeroot on demand into the chroot and in experimental with the aspcud solver seems to prefer pseudo. So we can either fix pseudo or try to work around in sbuild. I would prefer the first thing.

Cheers Jochen
