There is nothing related to alpha and hurd architectures here except that they recommends a different package due to a different soname. The whole Recommends line can be dropped: Recommends: libc6-pic | libc6.1-pic | libc0.1-pic | libc0.3-pic But maybe the best is to just remove the whole package which is not used anymore.
