In order to support SMTP as a destination, one needs the SMTP Syslog NG driver, aka "syslog-ng-mod-smtp". I see support for SMTP has been disabled on Ausgust 18, 2024: "Disable SMTP destination plugin for now". Do you have any particular reason for not having re-enabled it since then (and included it in Trixie) ? I have personally successfully re-enabled this support using the Debian Trixie source: - in debian/control: add libesmtp-dev in Build-Depends - in debian/control: uncomment the "syslog-ng-mod-smtp" package entry - in debian/rules: replace --disable-smtp by --enable-smtp I installed the resulting custom-built packages (including syslog-ng-mod-smtp 4.8.1-5+1custom13u1, as you can see below) and confirmed the SMTP module/driver _does_ work. Would you consider re-enabling it for future releases ?
