Dear all, Running emacs setting
export XMODIFIERS=@im=none export GTK_IM_MODULE=none deactivates the preedit window for the accent. So it seems that there is something in the interaction between emacs and ibus, since this phenomena happens only in emacs. This preedit "window" works fine in xterm in both contexts (with or without those variables set).
