Pidgin 3 is currently in pre-alpha, but hopefully it will be ready in time for Debian 14. More discussion about this is at https://bugs.debian.org/883214 Pidgin and libpurple 3 is a major API break and everything that uses it will need changes. Therefore, spectrum2-backend-libpurple will likely need to be removed later this year unless someone ports it to work with libpurple 3. Thank you, Jeremy Bícha
