I would have probably went with
-/usr/share/man/man8/*
+/usr/share/man/man8/[a-y]*
+/usr/share/man/man8/z[a-hj-z]*
which should have served the same purpose and has the advantage of less
maintenance effort. But I'm perfectly fine with your choice.
