I've packaged 4.20.1 and backported the relevant fix but I'm actually confused about this. Does this mean thumbnail in evince is actually handled by tumbler? That looks spurious to me. And in any case installing evince here I can see the thumbnails beeing generated just fine. I'll upload tumbler with the Closes: tag but I'm totally unsure it'll actually fix the problem for Philippe.
