Even spinning up a vm starting with bookworm, installing wesnoth (1.16), upgrading to trixie (which pulls in wesnoth 1.18), and then subsequently upgrading to testing, results in a working system with no dpkg/apt errors. Without clear repro steps I don't think there's anything I can do to help you. Regards, Vincent
