A portable drop-in re-implementation of systemd-tmpfiles. Implements pretty much all of systemd-tmpfiles, searches the same config paths and allows for per-user configs. The alternative package is systemd-standlone-tmpfiles, but that is built from src:systemd and as such is not suitable for the hurd architecture. It would also be desirable to have a lightweight and independent version of this facility available as use of tmpfiles.d proliferates among packages and fallback commands in maintscripts are removed. The equivalently independent solution for sysuser.d, opensysusers, has a popconf of 157. An alternative independent upstream tmpfiles.d solution, opentmpfiles, has been abandoned and deprecated upstream: https://github.com/OpenRC/opentmpfiles. Before packaging seedfiles, which is a new project, it might be worth reviewing to see if it seems like a good long term prospect.
