Debian itself can nothing do about it.
While I would encourage somebody to file this upstream if they still
want it, this is not a valid reason to close a Debian bug report. We
actively encourage people to file bugs in Debian
(https://www.debian.org/Bugs/Reporting), and we have the "forwarded"
state for bugs that have been forwarded upstream.
