Hi, Please drop the downstream patch I sent earlier. I opened an upstream PR in systemd: https://github.com/systemd/systemd/pull/44413 The upstream fix handles EPERM and EACCES on character and block device nodes when running in user namespaces, containers, or user runtime scope, so tmpfiles exits 0 instead of 73 without touching config files.
