Well, yes, of course it could. But I would prefer more to have that kind of files recognized by vim (don't know, 'ft=locheck'?) and add that line as part of the ftplugin support for that kind of files ... Are you willing to write a minimal support for that files? Syntax highlighting would be great for instance ... In that case we can forward the support upstream, I'm pretty sure it would be welcome.
