The package was purged actually, so I don't think that any configuration
files were left but I'll try again, thanks.

Hi Sean, when I uninstall php4-imap I then get this message:
PHP Warning: Unknown(): Unable to load dynamic library

/usr/lib/php4/20050606+lfs/imap.so: cannot open shared object file: No
such file or directory in Unknown on line 0
In either case I'm not sure if the PHP4 IMAP functionality works - I
tried it with SquirrelMail and have no problems logging in (I assume
that uses the built-in libraries but I could be wrong).
if you remove a package without purging it, it's config files stay
around, and in this case reference a library that's no longer there.
if you comment out the line in /etc/php4/conf.d/imap (or whatever
the name of the file is, it should be pretty obvious), what then?
