I'm still not sure if those really are comboboxes, they don't look and
behave the same as the rest of the comboboxes on my system. 

I do think you are right though, in that they should be made to support
scrolling and be consistent with the desktop. I'm just not sure if this
is an issue with individual applications or with gtk+.
