However, it fails to also take over its conffile, /etc/texmf/fmt.d/10texlive-context.cnf I think this could be done like any conffile renaming, as described on http://wiki.debian.org/DpkgConffileHandling (which unfortunately resurrects removed conffiles) or implemented in http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/debian-tex/texlive-new/trunk/all/debian/common.functions.preinst?op=file&rev=0&sc=0 (and the corresponding postinst/postrm scripts).
