After closer investigation, this turned out to be a more general bug in
g-v-m and how it calls pmount.
You can either install g-v-m from experimental, or wait for g-v-m
1.5.15-2, which will include a fix for that problem.

@Steve: Would you grant us a freeze exception for g-v-m in this case?
