Well, don't close is so fast. I'm the maintainer and answered the
submitter. Anyway, Kurt, get me the mysql log and/or the offending query
that causes the error. Then the bug can be reopened, or left closed and
followed up in Ubuntu or yourself.

My current inkling is that it could be MySQL related, but not sure why
without seeing the query log.

As to versions of mysql-admin, it seems to be the same as as in Ubuntu.
1.2.5rc-1 and rc-2 are the same when it comes to handling backups.
