So I think at least the error message should be 'Access denied for database mysql' or similar, but not 'SQL-Error' because this is misleading. Don't you agree ?

mysql-admin may have changed functionality from using some MySQL
specific SQL to fetch these permissions to using the internal database
itself. Not a big deal. Heck, maybe in the older version it didn't
backup the permissions at all!
