I don't agree with you. Deleting this directory and resync everything is a sane default. To my mind it is a simple and efficient solution. Trying to resume from Ctrl-C by keeping downloaded file, which are in a half downloaded state, implies to treat a lot of special case... This is far less simple than the actual behavior. Did you *really* think this is a good solution ?

Well, I see the problems with it. However, I hope you also try to
understand my position.
Couldn't the temporary directory be moved into place when the sync
is cancelled? It'll be incomplete then, but at least you can resume
the synchronisation, not having to transfer *everything* again.

rm of a file is fast in most case. mv of a file is fast in some case. So, you could see strange behavior like hitting C-c and waiting for 5 min before the end of the program... I think people will finish by really killing unison in this kind of case and it will really mess up everything. (rm is fast because it never has to copy file from a media to another, as mv can be slow when transfering a file between two media). I understand perfectly your position... i don't say that your request is not good, but the current behavior is "a sane default". I think unison developper won't pay attention to things that require to change a lot of things making the whole thing very complicated... Recovering from unexpected interrupt is a tricky business, i hope you understand that unison team try to keep the thing simple (i talk as maintainer of unison since i am not part of unison team -- maybe they will agree without discussion to your request).
