Package: nvidia-kernel-source Version: 1.0.7174-1 Followup-For: Bug #299569
I've had this problem occur on occasion with 1.0.6629 as well, but far less often -- maybe once a week rather than many times per day. That only started happening after I downgraded back to 1.0.6629 after experiencing the problems with the newer version; prior to that, it never happened at all. Bug #301309 looks like it might be a duplicate of this one, although the reporter of that bug says he has to reboot after killing the X server, which is not the case here. (Once the hung X server is killed, it can be started up again just fine.) The problem only seems to occur after taking an action which involves updating things on the screen. Leave X sitting unattended for a while and it won't happen, but load a web page (for example) and it might hang. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (990, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.10 Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages nvidia-kernel-source depends on: ii debhelper 4.2.32 helper programs for debian/rules ii dpatch 2.0.10 patch maintenance system for Debia ii make 3.80-9 The GNU version of the "make" util ii sed 4.1.4-2 The GNU sed stream editor -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
