Hi Michael, I'll have to do some tests on my machine to see if I can reproduce your problem. It kinda looks like a problem with your kernel or burner, I'm not so sure K3b is to blame here. But perhaps other people have run into this problem and will be able to comment on it.
Actually, there is one thing you could try: switching back to K3b 0.12.17-9 (you can grab it in testing) and seeing if you can reproduce the problem in that version as well.
