/usr/bin/X11/ is only a symlink made for backwards compatibility. How do
you start your X session? Do you use kdm, gdm or startx directly from
the console?
What does

PID=`pidof X Xorg Xgl`
readlink /proc/$PID/exe

say (run these commands as root)
