Tim, Must not have copied the whole line. Cheetah:~# cat /proc/swaps Filename Type Size Used Priority /dev/sda5 partition 2650684 0 -1
I Got this when I ran '# s2disk' as root: s2disk: pm_ops->prepare failed, using 'shutdown mode = shutdown' . Reason: Inappropriate ioctl for device s2disk: Snapshotting system System went sort of dead. Had that error at the top of the screen with a flashing cursor. However I was not able to get it back. Used another computer to search the net, didn't find anything that looked like what I had. Pressed the power button, and the machine turned off. Pressed the power button again, and it came back up. Checked to see if there were any errors printed to log: Cheetah:~# cat /var/log/messages | grep s2disk found nothing... Digging through the log, I found the beginning of the next boot mesages. The last thing in /var/log/messages before that boot was the following: May 21 19:53:38 localhost -- MARK -- May 21 20:04:50 localhost kernel: Freezing cpus ... May 21 20:04:50 localhost kernel: CPU 1 is now offline May 21 20:04:50 localhost kernel: SMP alternatives: switching to UP code Regards, Matt
