Well, that debconf question could also have been "for internal use
only", making it preseedable. That wouldn't interfere with d-i in such
case and would even not need more translation.

Geoff, please also note that the *first* created user UID *is*
preseedable by using  passwd/user-uid. That may help you in solving
some issues with automated installs maybe.
