That is surprising. The French translation of "first name" is "Prénom" an this is correctly displayed in the All tab.

That IS very strange...


Thanks for looking into this.  If you know where this needs to be
fixed, I can try to fix it, too.

What is the output of:
$ grep char_set ~/.jpilot/jpilot.rc

char_set 8
