I do not mean to make it a default, but configurable...
If I put in the TEMPDIR field of the Preferences Dialog the Variable
${TMPDIR} it take it but does an immediat evaluation and save its value.
Maybe it can be done, that gimp save the Variable ${TEMPDIR} so it can
refind it next time (my TMPDIR switch from session to session)
...or a checkbox "Use TMPDIR" for both, SWAPDIRECTORY and TMPDIRECTORY.
