Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: normal

As discussed in
http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2007/12/msg00136.html I request to
have the 'metalog' package removed. metalog is not yet capable of
mimicing common syslog file paths (e.g. /var/log/mail.log) and thus does
not qualify as a common logging daemon. There are enough alternatives
like sysklogd, syslog-ng and rsyslog that do a better job.

The package was orphaned and I sent an ITA. But while I wanted to get
the package into a good shape again I found these problems.
