Whilst I sympathise with your view, the goodies are released randomly
and independently of the base package.

Personally I would rather we upload a xfce4-goodies package that had a
version of 100 and had no relation to the version of the xfce4 that they
work with.

No but it's only a metapackage so it's not really supposed to do a lot.
