Hi,

Is the backup software in Debian or not? The console-tools is correct, and in principle the other software is in error in failing to handle a valid filename as anything other than a null-terminated string of bytes (exluding '/') .

What problems do you see?

Alastair

A file under /usr/share/doc/console-tools/examples
dated 1999-04-08 and having a size of 295 chars. appears as two musical
notes when viewed with a UTF-8 enabled konsole.

This files does not backup properly with older backup software.

Please change the name to something more mundane.

Thanks.
