This is exceedingly strange. I never noticed this before, and I do
suppose I would have noticed hard-core porn used as a screen saver.
I would also like to draw your attention to the
kscreensaver-xsavers-webcollage package. In the description, it says:
IMPORTANT NOTICE: The internet contains all kinds of pictures, some
which you might find inappropriate and offensive. You are specially
discouraged to install this package if you are using your computer in a
working environment or an enviroment with childs.
This, I would consider an adequate warning. It certainly gives the
impression that by not installing that package, you don't install
webcollage.

It is not clear to me what particular hack you are referring to, but I
certainly did a "rm /usr/lib/xscreensaver/webcollage*"
Also, I am not really convinced that a smiley is appropriate for this
discussion. I think this is serious.
Do you mean that, by default, a Debian system is not supposed to be
suitable for a household with children?
