The screen saver does display hard-core porn. It also displays other
pictures, as well.

I'm quite aware of that.
What I don't see is why a Debian system that happens to be connected to
the Internet should also be unsuitable for children, or for people who
happen to run such a system at work.
What's worse is that these images are usually displayed when the user is
not present. Just picture the scene - a boss walking up to a
subordinate's computer, which suddenly starts displaying porn. This
wouldn't be funny at all (and could well be cause for termination).

It may not be intended to be, but the current default certainly works
that way.

If a user is made aware of this, she can certainly change the default
setting. As it currently stands, the default is unacceptable.
