Package: wxmaxima Version: 0.7.1-1 Severity: normal When started in an environment with a lot of printers, wxmaxima queries for the numerous printers a lot and uses large amounts of cpu (as does cupsd (typically, I get 70% cpu for wxmaxima and 40% for cupsd when I don't do anything, and it increases when I write a formula and decreases when maxima is computing). I get lots of messages like
GnomePrintCupsPlugin-Message: The ppd file for the CUPS printer lj3 could not be loaded. even though I don't want to print anything. Other programs that I use don't report those messages and cupsd's load does not skyrocket as much as with wxmaxima. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.23-1-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages wxmaxima depends on: ii libc6 2.7-6 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libgcc1 1:4.3-20080112-1 GCC support library ii libstdc++6 4.3-20080112-1 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libwxbase2.6-0 2.6.3.2.2-1 wxBase library (runtime) - non-GUI ii libwxgtk2.6-0 2.6.3.2.2-1 wxWidgets Cross-platform C++ GUI t ii libxml2 2.6.30.dfsg-3 GNOME XML library ii maxima 5.13.0-3 A computer algebra system -- base ii maxima-doc 5.13.0-3 A computer algebra system -- docum wxmaxima recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
