Hi,
You already have 1.3.5-1 installed, and upgrading to 1.3.5-1+b1. The
question you have raised is that "is the newly discovered bug filed
against 1.3.5-1 and not yet fixed by 1.3.5-1+b1 relevant to your
upgrade to 1.3.5-1+b1 ?"
If you've seen the bug report in the past, you won't see it again.
Ah, OK.
So the question is, if there is a bug which is relevant to the current
version AND the new version, should you know about it.
Yes, you should. That wasn't the question I was asking. I was asking whether
you should be asked whether you want to abort the upgrade as a result.
Hmmm ? Let me get this straight. If you want to know if the new
upgrade will break the system, you probably want the option to abort
the installation. You are given an option here.
The point is that when the bug is in a version you have installed, your
system is most likely already broken. But you're right that some bugs might
actually trigger at installation even if they didn't the previous time, e.g.
if they're time sensitive, or only trigger when installing a newer version.
