<luk_> how do you recommend me to start using po4a for the manpages of
the update-inetd package
<ettin> luk_: create a po directory and a .cfg for po4a... ;)
* ettin gets update-inetd's source package
<luk_> you may want to take care to take the 0.28 one which was uploaded
today...
<ettin> ah, thanks, I had already downloaded 0.27...
<ettin> for example, po/update-inetd-man.cfg:
<ettin> [po4a_langs] ca
<ettin> [po4a_paths] update-inetd-man.pot $lang:$lang.po
<ettin> [po4a_alias:wman] man opt:"-k 80 -L utf-8"
<ettin> [type:wman] ../update-inetd.8 $lang:../man/$lang/update-inetd.8
<ettin> then you only need to update po4a_langs when new languages are
available
<ettin> (and run `po4a update-inetd-man.cfg' every time there is an update)
<ettin> luk_: hope that helps... feel free to ask if you have questions :)
<luk_> tnx already, will try it out one of the next days
<luk_> is there by any chance also some easy way to get an existing
translation converted to this format?
<ettin> luk_: hmm, it is possible...
<ettin> hmm, but I see no translations in the source package?
<luk_> it's still in a bugreport
<luk_> should be mentioned in TODO (grep for po4a)
<ettin> luk_: po4a-gettextize -f man -m update-inetd.8 -l
man/pt_BR/update-inetd.8 -p pt_BR.po -L iso-8859-1
<ettin> just tested it and it works fine, all strings are correctly
detected (though they are marked as fuzzy)
<ettin> it is probably a good idea to send the .po to the translation
for review
<ettin> s/translation/translator/
<luk_> tnx, do you mind if I send this discussion to the BR?
<ettin> BR?
<luk_> bug report
<ettin> ah, no ;)
<ettin> I mean, feel free to send it
