Package: synaptic Version: 0.55+cvs20050503-1 Severity: normal Hi,
Subject says it all: when a package is marked in synaptic for deletion, it is not possible to mark it for purging anymore; the only two ways to do this are to either * remove the package, then go to the list of removed packages with leftover configuration files and purge them, * mark the package to be installed, then mark it to be purged again. This is especially annoying if one considers that if a package foo, which a package bar depends on, is marked as being purged, then the package bar will be marked as being deleted (rather than being purged, too), which isn't necessarily what the user wants (rather likely it isn't, actually). -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: powerpc (ppc) Kernel: Linux 2.6.11.8 Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages synaptic depends on: ii apt [libapt-pkg-libc6.3- 0.5.28.6 Advanced front-end for dpkg ii libatk1.0-0 1.8.0-4 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-21 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libfontconfig1 2.3.2-1 generic font configuration library ii libfreetype6 2.1.7-2.4 FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libgcc1 1:3.4.3-13 GCC support library ii libglade2-0 1:2.4.2-2 library to load .glade files at ru ii libglib2.0-0 2.6.4-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgtk2.0-0 2.6.4-1 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libncurses5 5.4-4 Shared libraries for terminal hand ii libpango1.0-0 1.8.1-1 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libstdc++5 1:3.3.6-4 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libvte4 1:0.11.13-2 Terminal emulator widget for GTK+ ii libx11-6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-12 X Window System protocol client li ii libxft2 2.1.7-1 FreeType-based font drawing librar ii libxml2 2.6.16-7 GNOME XML library ii libxrender1 0.9.0-1 X Rendering Extension client libra ii scrollkeeper 0.3.14-10 A free electronic cataloging syste ii xlibs 4.3.0.dfsg.1-12 X Keyboard Extension (XKB) configu ii zlib1g 1:1.2.2-4 compression library - runtime -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
