No problem - the same process applied on my side between the "ranting about pam_ldap" and "stop whining and start coding" stages.
I can't recall seeing this issue in the upstream bugzilla - but the specific attribute request patch is a no-brainer
Here's the upstream report - I've improved the patch to fix a couple of bugs Luke noticed. The main concern I have is testing - "it works on our systems" is disturbingly insufficient for something like pam_ldap:
