Hello - I haven't looked at this for some time, but yes, the patches I posted at launchpad were developed on Debian against the debian package. I still have my trusty x40, the dock and an ultrabay. I will try and look at this again this week. The patches sort out docking and undocking in the absence of the bay, but they don't work with the bay (in fact I think horrible things happen if you try).
