This bug report requests ignoring spaces around commas: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=380205 More thoughts you want to share ? Interested in developing a patch for xchat to make it support highlighting phrases and words ? What about phrases containing commas ?
